After a heart shaped french toast breakfast with strawberries we headed to DC to go to the zoo.
We have done this the past 2 years. Yet again the weather was beautiful and we had a great time. This year there is a new baby gorilla and a orangutan crossing. ORANGUTANS are my favorites. I could have parked myself down in front of them and watched all day.
After the zoo we thought it would be nice to drive down to the Mall and see all the other DC must sees. We lucked out and found a parking space. We walked to the White House (or I guess I should say: as close as we could get...we did get closer than in the picture) and the Washington Monument (boy was it breezy up there).
We got home in time for dinner....Sean whipped up shrimp wraps with pineapples....YUMMY!!! Then the girls and I walked to the playground then back out front to ride bikes for a while. Emma is getting real good...now she can start on her own.
I am DONE. Had a great day, now hoping for an early bedtime :)
All in all, a TERRIFIC day....I am such a lucky GIRL, MOMMY and WIFE. Hope everyone had a wonderful day as well.

Your mom is looking down with pride and love watching the wonderful daughter, son-in-law and especially grand daughters that are here. I too wish she could be here to share in all that you do with the girls.
You are a terrific mom and that is a reflection on the mother that raised you. Keep up the good work.
Love you bunches, Aunt Gail
